    Great job, Tom! You're the expert. So fast, out of date tho. Would love more coverage of ***non-Tesla DCFC*** in North America. Will CCS adapters be introduced, which operate at 250KW, V2 or V3, Tesla SCs, where one does not find a Magic Dock? This is currently confusing, as many 250KW stations do not have them, and possibly won't get them. What is the ongoing pulse of the NACS roll-out? Will CCS equiped cars get the short stick if Tesla doesn't retro-fit enough "magic docks" and simply serves 2025 onward vehicles (OE supplied NACs female)?

    The GrizzlE Mini TT-30 adapter is shown as a 208-240V adapter, but TT-30 is a 30A 120V circuit. Usually these adapters have a resistor that signals to the EVSE the voltage and the max current. TT receptacles are wired with L1 and N, so either United Chargers engineered their TT adapter/EVSE wrong or they need some better copy editors and tech writers. IDK, maybe I'm missing something.

    Great video. I have a question - I live in an apartment block with underground garage. The building has 30 amp breaker. I just installed my own charger after a few years of charging on a regular socket, as at times it overheated and my Tesla was dropping amps to around 8- 10. I now have dedicated wiring. I understand from your vid I can charge up to 24 amps (32 x 80%). My question is about overall capacity the building and adding more chargers. Dont worry I will get a proper electrician over but specifically, is there a limit on how many chargers are installed in the building, or it makes no difference if they all charge at or below 24 amps? Thanks, Matt

    I got this unit. But only had it set up for 48 amps. My car can only take 48 amps WiFi is great Good robust cable. I do wonder about the torque specs for the wire into the TA-2 lugs. 20 inch pounds to the pcb but nothing for the wire to lugs. Great product that should outlast me. Errr my car

    Not worried about the cost but my ChargePoint gets to hot here in Arizona, and throttles my charge speed on my Rivian R1S to 10miles per hour…. Who should I switch to? I want fast!!! I have 50amp breaker with 4gauge wire… please give me 2 options!!!!???

    Great units and their customer service is top notch. My house got hit by lightning (copper bell tower) and it blew a fuse inside the charger unit. I couldn't find anywhere what the fuse size was, customer service helped right away and offered to send a replacement fuse. Servicing the unit was very easy.

    I am still trying to understand all the variances. I have a 2021 Chevy Bolt. I understand that I have to download the Tesla app and establish an account with a form of payment. I have seen videos of people successfully using a Supercharger with a "Magic Dock." However, for the Superchargers without a Magic Dock, don't they have to be programmed by Tesla to accept a non-Tesla using a 3rd party adapter? How do I tell which is which?

    And build quality??? Teslas are not known for very good build quality, and the CT is truly awful, with gigantic panel gaps and alignment issues. EV trucks all SUCK at towing, with neither the Lightening or Cybertruck being able to tow even 100 miles, which is followed by a 90-minute recharge cycle.

    “Exoskeleton” infers that the body panels that define the physical shape of the vehicle is a significant part of the vehicle’s structure. This is not true of the Cybertruck. The exterior panels are an assemblage of ill-fitting, 2-D pieces that don’t fit together very well.

      Very sorry about Alpha project myself, we took on to too many projects at a time, and still Alpha, PCPH and other very important for fleet electrification projects are not complete. Yes it is totally our fault, but we are trying to survive and now prioritizing project which are most important for electrification future. Soon we will get back on Alpha project and we will do it. Now we still have to focus on Grizzl-E lineup.

      @@nosoupforyou425 Nobody is under a bus. Alpha 1 is a very good working charger which delivers local smart functions and charge to your car. I use the same Alpha 1 charger for my personal EV and it is working great for the last 2.5 years. New Alpha 2 is coming, once we finish current Grizzl-E lineup completely.

    I just picked up my 2023 Lightning XLT w/312a pkg and Extended Range Battery and it doesn’t have a digital numeric display for SOC. There have been no OTA updates yet. I wonder if there is a problem with updates? BTW: My frunk doesn’t open with the button under the hood too.

    I bought one of these for my f150 lightning, specifically for use at a campground tt30 120 volt 30-amp outlet. Using this I should have been able to charge at 24 amps. I believe this unit would support that. However, the F-150 lightning would NOT. It treated this the same as a 15-amp circuit and charged at 12 amps, regardless of the setting on the J+. I returned the unit, since it didn’t have any advantage over the included Ford mobile plug. The J+ has a great design and I was excited about all of the available plugs. Towing my camper, I thought I could use 14-50, TT-30, and regular 3-prong household plugs. I’m sure if I was using it with a Tesla I could, but the ford seems to support just 2 speeds - 12 amps at 120volt or higher amps at 240-volt (32 with the included cord; 40 with my ChargePoint, 80 with the ford brand wall charger). Shame it could not be programmed to do 24 amps at 120 volt with the common campground TT-30 plug.

      @@HawkJ88 That's what it says in the manual, but #4 isn't big enough for 80 A continuous per National Electrical Code so I don't know how you can install this meeting NEC.

      For runs up to 100-ft, #4 is NEC compliant

      @@StateOfChargeWithTomMoloughney It's an ampacity issue, not a voltage drop issue. It's a problem for any distance. In the 75 C column of Table 310.16, #4 is listed as 85 A. That means you can only charge at 80% of that (125% rule), which is 68 A. 80A continuous load (e.g. EV charging) is not allowed. Better get some expert opinions on this in time for your review. Happy to share my credentials if that would help.

    More important than torque is probably coefficient of expansion of the cable and the binding posts. Once copper is compressed it does expand again if the nut torque is reduced.

    Really enjoyed your updated video on the Grizzl-E level 2 charger. Living in Ontario, Canada, I am very interested in this charger for my soon to be new EV car. My only concern with this product is the apparent unfair cost of this unit in Canada vs the USA. Since its made in Canada, i would have expected the price to be lower. Plus the Smart unit in Canada is $100 more than the basic unit, while in the US its only $50 more. Seems unfair to me. I tried to reach out to the Sales department at United Chargers and they said the pricing is set by Senior Management and the Sales department couldnt help me. I was wonder if you had any contact information at the Senior Management level. BYW, I also really enjoyed your video on the Empora level 2 charger. Right now its a toss up for which one I will buy. Thanks for the very thorough reviews.

    I have a Ford Lightning with a 98kwh battery and a 30 amp output in the bed that I'll use to power my Go Play 26BH travel trailer (which comes with 200 watts of solar). What is a good way to charge the truck adequately off grid (will 120 volts be adequate, or do I need 240 volts?)? I will be using the 15,000 btu a/c. TIA

      It wasn't for sale in Canada because it wasn't UL listed. Canada has stricter rules about that. They finally got it UL listed. So it should be on sale in Canada too soon. Maybe they need to clear out the old non-listed stock first?

    This is all a big learning curve for so many of us, but if I understand this right, this is more than what you need for say the 2022 Chevy Bolt's 11KW on board charger which requires a 60 AMP load in order to charge from zero to 100% full in the 7.5 hours theoretical specs published, but of course your panel in your home has to be upgraded right? Is there any harm however in using a unit like this for the 11KW /60 AMP requirements for the 2022 and later Chevy Bolts?

      There is no harm. The vehicle always dictates the upper limit of power it takes in, so you can use a charger that can deliver more power, but the car will only accept the power it's limited to.

      To get the maximum charging rate on the '22 Bolt you need a 60 A circuit for 48 A charging (or larger). This has an option for a 60 A circuit or a 100 A circuit. Either would give you the same charging rate on the Bolt. Or you could buy a cheaper charger that has the option for a 60 A circuit, but not the 100 A circuit, and you'd get the same charging rate. Whether you need your panel upgraded depends on many factors--many people have enough unused capacity available to install that with no upgrade. But even if you don't have the spare capacity, an electrician with the right expertise can install a Wallbox, Emporia, or Tesla charger with a monitoring system that automatically adjusts the charging rate on a minute-by-minute basis according to how much capacity you have available.

    I live in a high heat, high humidity, hurricane prone region. I picked the grizzl-e classic for its durability. In a few years I may need to pick up a dual charger when my wife replaces her ICE car and I also hope to pick up the mini for when I'm out camping and want to plug into a camper hookup

    Proud to be 🇨🇦. Love it! I had a classic and upgraded to the Duo. Both have been absolutely rock solid for years. When I need my next charger it will definitely be from united chargers.

    Fan of the channel. But the laws of economics won’t work long . Especially after production incentives are removed. Idea is for most in the world to collaborate for the best outcomes. Each one doing the best they can, and delivering the best to the market. I understand they are already moving into Mexico, and that indicates realization at some level, which is great.

      Once incentives will be removed, we will occupy 90 percent of the market, as we are the ONLY EVSE manufacturer in North America, which had not received a single dollar from government of any kind. We sell in Ontario, where no incentives for EV chargers or EVs and we sell more than 90% of the chargers in Ontario. We opening plants in different regions to cover those regions locally. I believe in local business and paying local taxes.
